Ahh the peacefulness, to lay at the bottom of the boat, fell it move as a motorboat speeds by, feel the hum against the board frame of the boat. Gaze into the sky and see the early morning sun sneak out from behind a cloud, watch a seagull swoop in and come to rest on the bow of the boat, the melody of its flock as they call to him. The sound of steel drums as they welcome the tourists from the cruise ship parked just outside the habour, the chatter of taxi drivers as they try to entice the visitors to a tour of the island, back to the sound of the ocean hitting the sides of the boat. Ohh I could have laid there all day, watch the sun until it was in the middle of the sky, smell the lunch rush from the floating restaurant, listen to the workers laughter, excited for the hour break, enjoy the sound of school kids happy to be out for the day, smile as the same workers leave the government offices, planning they evening activities. Then the peace, as the city settle in to the evening. Watch as the lights from the stores shimmer across the ocean’s surface.
Ahhhh Yes, sometimes you just have to daydream the tropical days away.
