Ahhhh I don’t want to wake up
This anger feels good
Feels like a shooting start is bouncing around in me
Looking for a way out
It is circled with fire and ice
Feels like a Chinese carnival
Dragon hissing steam instead of fire
Voodoo meeting without dancers
Just drum beats pulsating
A rainbow with one colour
Bright orange vibrating
Love with too much passion
Flashes of darkness
Raindrops of tropical colours
But alas I must wake up
Let the colours dissipate
Uninvited reality takes its place

Good Marning me Neighbours
Time to wake up and follow the rainbow, let the cool Caribbean hug you, swim out until the colour of the rainbow rests on your head, slowly walk out of the ocean, let the colours roll down your body, stand in the early morning sun, let the colours glitter off you like a costume on carnival Monday.
Jump jump, jump, jump up. Its bacanal time I tell you. We go fete, jump in de streets, chip to steel band music, ohhhh yes, we go dingolay for so.
Laughter fills the are
Cotton Candy melts I the hands of children
Ice cream with sprinkles on top
The scent of food cooking
Games of chance for every age
Petting zoo with goats, sheep other animals
4H shows with proud little faces
Rides that take you up and around
Round and round, till your head spins
This island boy, is deep in the country
Taking in the sights at the county fair
Sing me brudda, jump up time
From the ocean looking, lights bounce off the dark water, like a rainbow exploded against the night sky, like god spit millions of skittles on the island, like natures own parade of the bands on carnival day, making shadows dance against the blue purple skies, each colour as beautiful as a note on a steel drum.
More from Carriacou
I believe this is a Short Knee a traditional costume. When I was a kid the used to carry Johnson’s baby powder and spray it on the bystanders.
